The Future: We See Ourselves

a multi-media interactive vision board of the future from a broad spectrum of contemporary  Black scholars and leaders.

The project will pose these Central Questions: “If everything you have been advocating for came to pass, what would the future look like? Who would it benefit, and why? What do you imagine happened for it to finally come true?”

Familiar Unfamiliar

Project Outline

Familiar Unfamiliar is set to be a series of community workshops in celebration of collaborative Black storytelling. We will investigate and reinvigorate  Black joy, oral traditions, and the art of call-and-response culture embedded in the Black diaspora. Community members will participate in unpacking powerful Black Character Archetypes in our stories, and get to engage and connect with them and each other in meaningful ways.

These artistic contributions are a devotional practice honoring Storytelling.  When we engage in Story, we learn self-compassion, expansiveness, desire, grief, presence, and community.
